Works: Marked "S Marti et Cie Medaille deBronze" which was awarded in 1860. 8 day French high quality movement with strike on bell. Works may have originally been silk thread suspension evidenced by the additional weight on the pendulum.

The "Mass Bay Antiques" April 1998 issue reports that a similar clock, which I inspected at the preview, sold at auction in Amesbury, MA by auctioneer John McInnis for $ 4,950. In my opinion this one is better.
